If you browse to your Aurora Sequencer directory, right click on Auroradata3.dll, select properties, then click the "Version" tab, what version does it show?

You are running the wrong version of the database engine. The current version is 1.0.0.11. Please uninstall Aurora from the control panel add/remove programs (if there are multiple entries you will need to uninstall all of the entries) then reinstall 1.0.32. Afterward you should have the 1.0.0.11 data engine instead of 1.0.0.1.
It sounds like you did this already, but I do know 1.0.11 is in the current package and not 1.0.0.1, so something is still hanging on in there. Edited by LightsOnLogan - 04 Dec 2008 at 6:59pm |

sorry, I clicked on the wrong file.
I rechecked the 'AuroraData3.dll' and it shows version 1.0.0.11. Both machines.
For some reason I was looking at the Audio file.
On the second machine I also got the following error:
Aurora encountered an unexpected error and will now reset.
Debugging Information:
-2147467259: Unspecified error
Mail Processing loop
Provider.
Then the sorry the program has to close message showed up.
Does that help any?
I did uninstall all past versions from the control panel.
Just encountere a different error:
-----------------
Aurora encountered an unexpected error and will now reset.
Debugging Info
7: Out of Memory
Get Times
Aurora Sequencer
-------------------

I went over to a brand new, no other software installed, VISTA machine and installed 1.0.32.
I copied my channels file over for editing.
It crashed Aurora on the VISTA box as well.

Try saving the sequence and reopening it before editing it... just making sure this sequence wasn't created with an older version that needs recompiling into the new format before rearranging channels.

I am not sure which version I first created this data file in but the first version that I have is 0.3.0.
I have opened and saved this data file in each version that I have used and I have certainly lost track of how many timest that has happened. I added the bulk of the channels back around the release of 1.0 but have never had to do bulk changes like this.
Is there anyway to clean up this file or should I just start all over again. I have had so many hardware things throw me behind for this season that one more won't make much difference now.

Just open the sequence, save it (to get the data into the new format), re-open it, and then begin your channel edits.

I have done that. Aurora still crashes while editing my data file.
I may have made a mistake of moving some of the channels around.
At least I can use the Hardware manager to turn the lights on.
Well it's getting late and I guess I'll start over tomorrow evening.

If these are old files, do any of them by chance contain circles, arches, etc. in the drawing objects? If so you can try deleting those (the circle prototype was changed in beta 0.7).
