Aurora 2 Beta 1 is now available for free download to all existing Aurora 1 customers:
http://www.aurorashow.com/downloads/aurora_1_999_300.zip Aurora 2 Features
Aurora is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 on systems having at least 1GHz CPU and 2GB RAM (multiple core CPUs are recommended). "Installation" InstructionsTo "install" this download, you will need to create a new folder on your computer (please do not reuse your Aurora 1 folder) and unzip the contents of the zip file into it. That is it-- there is no "installer" application. You can even unzip onto a USB stick and run Aurora from the USB drive on any compatible PC without any installation whatsoever (even from PCs where you would not ordinarily be able to install software). Disclaimer This is an EARLY BETA version of Aurora and as such it does contain several known (and probably several not yet known) bugs. Use in a production environment is at your own risk. We will be offering limited support for this version for those who do choose to use it in their 2013 production environment, but due to the early beta nature of this release we can not guarantee that any issues will be resolved during this season. Preorder Discount Special Thank you for your patience during the wait for this long overdue beta release. To show our appreciation we are offering a substantial discount to those customers who choose to preorder an Aurora 2 upgrade between now and December 31. For more information, please see: http://www.aurorashow.com/order.asp Future Release Schedule Aurora 2 Beta 2 -- ETA April 2014* Aurora 2 Beta 3 -- ETA July 2014* Aurora 2 Final -- ETA September 2014* * These estimated dates are subject to change Michael Miller Aurorashow.com Edit: Fixed broken download link Edited by LightsOnLogan - 26 Nov 2013 at 12:18pm |

The link was incorrect. It should be fixed now.
Please PM me the email address you purchased Aurora with and I will look up your unlock key since the web form isn't working for you. Michael |

If you downloaded Aurora 2 Beta 1 (build 300), then yes, you should upgrade as the update (build 307 as of this writing) contains important stability fixes.
If you are running Aurora 1.0.69 or 1.0.90 and are running DMX, then yes, you should upgrade as the program is far easier to use than the DMX hack used for the last two seasons. If you are not running DMX, then you might want to download the program anyway just to see what it can do. As an Aurora 1.X user, you are being given free access to this program during the public Beta evaluation period. Once the Beta period is complete, Aurora 2.0 will become a paid product. Download it, test it out for yourself, and if you have any questions, just ask. Note that sequences are not backwards compatible. That is to say that any work you do in Aurora 2.0 will not open with Aurora 1.X. Always keep an original file of your 1.X sequences and only work off of copies. |

Hi guys. Just wanted to see if anyone's home. Trying to feel out whether there's any chance that this beta will get me through this Christmas. I'd like to add some rgb this year, but I'm not sure whether I should bother trying the Beta, or if I'm best off going another way.
Anyone? |

It is fairly stable enough for you to use it. It has a few farts and burps here and there but as a whole, it is pretty good.

That's the only one I use and like it a lot. The learning curve is not too steep.
