Hangs on “Decompiling data for editing"

 Am experiencing a new
problem with Aurora sequencer where upon loading the program, and selecting any
of the sequences in my library, the status screen “Decompiling data for editing”
hangs for about 10 minutes and then the blank grid screen (without grid lines)
appears with none of my previous work.  

I have deleted most of the non-essential programs from my
computer and each time, when I run sequencer, it runs properly unless I leave
it alone when it may not respond or when I save, the screen dims (vista 32 bit)
and reports that an error has occurred.

I have deleted and reinstalled Aurora a few times and tried
to run in safe mode only to find that the audio playback does not function in
the safe mode. I have tried with  wifi
off and nothing attached including the power.

I am using an HP Pavilion laptop, vista 32 bit 

Can anyone help?
