There are two pinouts for sending DMX over RJ-45 plugs to our controllers.  On one hand you have the D-Light and LOR wiring pinout (for their USB-485 adapters and controllers), and on the other hand you have the wiring pinout used by the Joshua1 Systems and Lynx products.  Whenever you need to connect one of these devices to the other an adapter cable is required.

There has been much discussion about how to do this elsewhere on the Internet (including debate about the "third wire").  During beta testing we took the opportunity to test out various cable configurations and have come up with this "official" pinout diagram that proved to be the best to use when making adapter cables:

This cable can be use in either direction (it is not end specific) and it does include the debated third wire that some controllers do make use of.  We highly recommend using this wiring for your adapter cables.

Also, there is a "jumper mod" for the DR4 circulating around the Internet which is supposed to make the DR4 jacks be wired into the D-Light/LOR configuration.  We do not recommend doing this modification to the DR4.  We highly recommend using the above adapter wiring instead.
