So I'm going to quess that the first response will be "use wav files", but I'll ask anyway.
I have a Dell Precision (Vista32), Gateway tablet(XP Tablet), and SuperMicro server(Server 2003) and have started each sequence on the Vista box with an mp3, editing back and forth on the tablet and the Vista box. Using only the 2003 box as the show server.
On each box, I need to adjust the timing so that all of the events line up correctly.
Why?

See? Isn't that what I said you'd say?
So the time shifting would go away with wavs?

I don't know alot about wav's versus mp3 but ALWAYS start with wav files. I have had a few sequences using mp3s and believe me sooner or later you will have issues with the mp3 files.

I'll second that....I've never had a issue with any wav files I've used. I had 2 out of 6 sequences last year that gave me issues until I changed the files to Wav format...(the other 4 were already wav files)
Lets start a Wav FILE wave :) WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV WAV |

Rip straight from your CD to a WAV with media player. No CD? You need to own the original music to legally be using it.

Do you own the Cd's??? Or is the downloaded Music? (itunes, amazon, walmart)
If its from a CD, I just use Itunes to convert them to WAV and never had any issues |

Well, I tried them on the 2003 box and they all seem to work so far.
I'm saving each one again there, and will bring them back.
I had the CDs at one point, but got rid of them after the files went digital.
