Can I copy part of a sequence from 1 to another without having to completely recreate that section?

I haven't tried, and I'm not in position to at the moment, but can you start a second instance of Aurora? and if so, can you copy from one into the other? (I think the answer is NO, but I've never tried it)

I just tried it, and YOU CAN start more than one instance of Aurora. In fact, I opened three different sequences, and I was able to play all three simultaneously. Though I did get a low physical memory warning once, and it took much longer to start each sequence as each was "Generating Preview" frames more slowly than normal. As for copy/paste--I could copy neither a single cell nor an entire channel from one open sequence to another. I got the same "Unable to paste selection" message whether I was attempting to do this between different versions of the same sequence or two entirely different sequences. Bummer. I though that Jon had stumbled onto something. |

I don't know the mechanism Aurora uses for copying and pasting but it must not be the Microsoft OLE or it should go from one session to another. Time for a Feature Request, I suppose. edit - I confirmed that I can indeed open dual Aurora sequences (and play them - though I tried it with one on COM9 Wifi and the other on COM3 USB) to avoid a COM conflict. But - couldn't paste into the other sequence. Just wouldn't work. and just to be sure, even when I opened the SAME EXACT SEQUENCE in both instances of Aurora, it wouldn't let me copy/paste between them. I thought maybe it was a name problem or something simple. :( Edited by JonB256 - 20 Oct 2008 at 10:52pm |

Yeah, that's why I tried copy/paste between two duplicate dls files as well. I thought that there was a problem pasting an entire channel between different length sequences. But alas, no, as I was unable to paste single cells between any two open sequences either. |

This is already on the feature request list and will happen in 2009.
