Thanks for cleaning these up for me LightChristmas. I suspended the user account and removed the signature line.
Unfortunately, more of these are getting through the registration Captcha than used to. I really don't want to enable Captcha with every post, but I might have to if these continue. Michael |

I think I may start following LC's example so they can be banned

Just start a thread with a list of deletions in the private beta group as you do them and I will ban them. It is this nonsense that gets our forum notification emails tagged as SPAM and then gets us blacklisted by SPAM filters, which in turn makes communication with some customers difficult until I can resolve the blacklist issues (sometimes easy, sometimes a real pain in the neck). At the moment we happen to be blacklisted by AT&T.
I've been tempted to just disable notification emails entirely since they cause such problems.

I ususally clear out 10 spam posts here each week. Got up grumpy this morning and vented a bit.

I have a feeling that the spammers are a one-and-done account, ie, banning them might not do much.
DiyLightAnimation.com has a policy where you can't post until you post in the Introduce Yourself forum. Doesn't get around a human doing the spamming, but tends to get rid of the bots. |
