It sounds like you stored something from Aurora onto a drive which no longer exists (thumb drive or network drive maybe) or deleted a file and now Aurora can't find it.

Granted we need to fix Aurora so trapping this error results in a correctable action instead of outright crashing, but in the meantime you can try the following:

Option 1: Reconnect the missing drive
Option 2: Delete the config.dat file (in case it contains a corrupt reference)... you will need to reconfigure Aurora's settings on the next open after doing this
Option 3: Delete audiocache.dat and the contents of the /Cache directory (if Aurora is looking for an audio file on a drive that doesn't exist).

Every so often (once a day possibly) when I click the Aurora Sequencer icon, I get a "preparing to install" dialog, bars pass, then Aurora's splash screen, then Aurora. This is both on the XP laptop and the Vista Workstation.

This happens when one of the OCX files Aurora uses is altered or deleted. Aurora is just fixing the problem before continuing.

Really...? That's... odd that something is changing the file this frequently. Well, at least it checks and keeps it's self functioning.

HA! Figured it out! If I delete "winter_wonderland_elvis.dls" Aurora does the re-install this when I start it next. Evedently Elvis is required to run Aurora. LOL
Fine. You're so smart you rig up the lights.

We just all have to play some Elvis. It's a requirement to own/run Aurora. LOL

I think that when Aurora starts and checks it's integrety, that Elvis sequence is somethng that it checks. If it's not there, Aurora does a repair and replaces it. I think that Michael just needs to clear that check out of the code is all.
