Topic: Using Holiday Coro DMX products w/ Aurora Posted: 09 Apr 2012 at 7:41am |
David at Holiday Coro has put together this schematic on how to configure a DMX product to software and hardware. My set-up is a little different; I use Aurora with LOR hardware. So how would my set-up look?
I would really like to introduce an RGB effect in our display, but it seems that the more I read the more confused I get
Thanks in advance!!!!!

I will be using the RGB but not through DMX. I'm just not ready to switch when I am still learning with regular setup so to speak.

Dont over complicate DMX. It is basically no different than LOR. You just dont have Unit ID# per controller, only start channels per each controller whether it be 1 channel, 3, 10, 16, 100 ect.
One universe is 512 channels. RGB lets you use 510 channels per universe.(170 three channel RGB modules/pixels, etc.) Ask what you dont understand. We'll get you straightened out. |

Agreed - it's not that crazy. You pop in new chips, assign them a starting channel, and that's about it. The rest is pretty much the same.

Pop in new chips for the D-light controllers. The stuff from Holidaycoro is all ready for DMX. If you can ADD, you can do DMX!!! Edited by ChrisL1976 - 12 Apr 2012 at 7:53am |
