Apparently the snow plow driver around here has a taste for mint - took out about half of our candy canes and half knocked over our donation box while plowing shut the driveway. About 4 -6 inches of snow fell today then followed by rain, sleet, and freezing rain so I guess the plow spray was just too heavy and mowed down some things.. Nothing really destroyed and it's all lighting tonight.
Everything in the display is holding up well to the elements - just not the plows
Even snow-blowed half the street in front of the house...
I thought thhings were just outside of plow range but I missed by about 6 inches. Ok so I'll steel stake them into the ground before the TV station comes to the display (The called and are supposed come interview and vuideo next week.)

No plows out here on our street, but we got around 5+ and we're expecting between 6-12 inches more tonight and into tomorrow afternoon. That's what you call a MAJOR storm for us here. Also talking some serious winds, sustained at 30-40 with guts around 75mph... hoping most of that goes north of us honestly.
Either way, I just love the look of Christmas lights in/under snow. I took a few pictures that you can see on my Picasa site if you wanna... It's Snowing Scroll down towards the bottom for the display pix... the rest are just random pix that I took the other day. Gonna try to get some video done tonight and get that up on leefamilylights.com as well :) Edited by kedogn - 20 Dec 2008 at 10:25am |

We got bout 4-5 inches yesterday then sleet, rain and freezing rain on top making it really heavy. We seem to be right around the 32 degree line and in a cycle now where we'll get a few inches of snow then switches over to rain and freezing rain. Going to try and get some video tonight as well with the snow.. Adds another level to the display witgh the ice and snow.. Just adds a little more to the 'magic' of it all.

It's ecto-plasm! You sure that's not the ghost of Christmas past!?
So pretty and white.... We'll be up in NH the 26th for a week or so.
Those taken with a DSLR? They are really clear and manual control of the shutter? Edited by Pony_God - 20 Dec 2008 at 12:30pm |
