I am looking for a dedicated computer to run my light show on and I came across an Acer computer with an 8.9in screen at Wally World and was wondering if it can run the scheduler. I do the sequencing on my computer but just need a small computer to run the show on. Here are the specs.

    Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure because the research I did said it was a different architecture or something and was considered a pretty basic processor. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination and was thoroughly confused by what I read.

    Ok... I just reread the specs and I'm not certain due to the processor.  Does anyone else know anything about this processor.  For comparison, the baseline test for Borealis is a P3 733.

    Well, it's at least still an x86 and 1.6Ghz. Although I don't see any L1 cache... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverthorne_(CPU)

    You could always get it, install Aurora, and try it for an hour or so. If it doesn't work, report it back here and return it.

    Just as a fer-instance, I'm running Borealis on an 800MHz P3. Anything with higher specs than that will work fine.

    I'm running Borealis on a ASUS Eee PC900 with an Intel Celeron processor. Not sure about the Atom.

    Just for grins I loaded Aurora on a Dell Inspirion 10 netboot - Atom processor - Although it's not as snappy as the desk top workstation appears to work ok - So long as I don't mind the 10 inch screen, the splash screen appears to 'vibrate' a few times when opeing the application, and the clipping of fonts in  in the open 'Other Locations' button.
     
    Of course the Netbook was never really intended for this type of usage but it appears as if I could actually sequence and show off it if I really wanted to do so.
