"Runtime Error 5: Invalid procedure call or argument"

I have tried reinstalling, but I get the same error.  Thanks.

Need more info:

What OS are you running?

When you installed, did you allow the installer to replace ALL of the files? You know - where it asks if you want to replace with an older file.

Did you reboot after installing?  Does the error happen before or after the calendar has displayed?

I am running XP.  I have rebooted several times.  The error shows up just after the calendar shows up.  I tried it on another computer, and received the same error.  Thanks.

For an update on the issue.  I have tried three different computers, but I continue to get the same error.  I must be doing something wrong and I have followed the walkthrough for scheduler several times, but still the same error....

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't been able to replicate this yet... I'm going to put together a special debug build for this to get a more verbose message.  Expect to hear more tonight.

As a further update, I installed Aurora on my office computer, and it does not have the same error.  The only difference that I can think of is that I have d-light on my home computers, but not on my office computer.  I do not know if this could cause a conflict because I do not run the d-light program and aurora at the same time.

Thank you.

No I'm not seeing that error

The D-Light software should not make any difference.

I did not allow the installer to replace my existing files..... Is that going to be a problem??

It hasn't been so far.

Thanks... this appears to be an isolated incident.  I will work with pmcdaniel directly to resolve this.

In most cases I actually recommend against replacing the files, so it shouldn't be a problem.

May not be related to this particular issue, but if you click "remove" from the playlist without first selecting a sequence, you will get an Error 5.

You have an email with instructions for installing the debug build.

This issue has been resolved.  It appears to have been a combination of two things:

1) Suspected driver issues with a particular USB mouse
2) Rebuilding of a deleted /Cache directory when short length audio files exist.

I just downloaded and installed. The sequencer works fine but I get the runtime error when I try and run the scheduler. My OS is XP (SP2)

OK, I have tried everything I can think of to get the scheduler to run!  I have removed LOR from my computer, tried removing and reinstalling the Aurora software and still get the runtime error when I try and start the scheduler.  The calandar appears, then the error message.

Mike,

How long after the calendar appears does the error message appear?

I will be contacting you with a download link to a debug build tomorrow to test this specific issue.

Once the calandar appears then about ten seconds or so later the error window pops up.  Thanks for your help!

Mike G's error 5 was different than the original one and has been solved.

Should anyone else get this, here is something to check:
Make sure your fonts are set to normal/96 DPI in your display properties.  It appears that there is a bug in which Aurora behaves incorrectly when Large/Extra Large fonts are used.  This will be fixed in a future release.

Yes - I get the error dialog on screen as well - but only after the scheduled show has completed and the last sequence has played.
