I've started to share my 2008 sequences at http://www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp - http://www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp .

Sorry - not a bad link - just bad spelling on my part - updated the database that drives the web page and it's working now.

Hope you find something you like. This will be my first year at D-Light and sequencing.  I'm updateing my sequences with some of the .5 features and will be updating the shared files when I've got them all done but what's there is basiclly my 2008 Christmas show.

GE Mr. Christmas Lights-N-Sound last year just wasn't enough. LOL

Seems to be working now. Some reason the database interface got messed up.

Seems since a recent server rebuild I'm having some minor issues with the web page to database link. If the problem continues I'll change the page so it is no longer database driven. But for the time being it seems to be working.

Thanks

Holy crud, your a sequencing fool!!!!!

Thanks, there are a few I was planning of using on your list.   One of the best parts of getting sequences from someone else if you cant really modify it to fit your is just using the timing, especially if its good timing which your is.....Major time saver

Thanks a ton for sharing these.

Ditto!

Setting the intervals is the "necessary evil" to the process for me.  Even if they aren't exactly what I'd choose, it's a whole lot easier to rebuild a finished sequence and import my own channel configuration than to start from scratch.  Especially given the learning curve that we're facing.  You just made my day!

Muchas Gracias!  Clap

What I'd like to do yet is record the visulizer and put them up on my site as simulations of the sequences. I'm working on it.

I'm just glad that someone can find these useful.  This is my first year with D-Light and sequencing. Hope I'm doing ok..

If you dont already know this....Easy way to make these work for you display. I noticed when I brought in my channel lineup to these sequences, it did copy over the commands to the same channel numbers.....SO, if you go in and edit Bruce's Channel Id's to match yours, then the lights commands will swap over to the same channels as yours.

Example.....Bruce's Manger is 8-9     if I switch it to 4-16....it will transfer his commands to my lights.   You will have to change the original Id's to something else first that your dont have or your will get a error message saying that ID is already used.....I changed the devices id to like A B C D, etc, then changed them to my settings.

Just put 'Where Are You Christmas' (Grinch Soundtrack) sequence online at my website..
Think I'm running to my end for now perhaps.  Sure hope someone finds these useful.
First year sequencing and hope I'm doing ok.  They look pretty good on the house in the visualizer.

Didn't look too bad either during a few mock-ups, partial setup spread out and hanging all over the basement. LOL

Ok - I'm almost sequenced out for this year (maybe brain dead from doing 30 some sequences)..  What I've done to date are available at http://www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp - http://www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp ..  There are 28 sequences (~1.5 hours total) available for your pleasure. I'm wrapping up maybe another 1 or 2 sequences which I'll also make available when completed.

Think that's going to be about it from me for this year. If you find any of these uesful and,  since this is my first year sequencing, I'd gladly welcome suggestions on how to improve.

Thanks
Bruce

Thanks - I'm feeling really comfortable with the Aurora and have everything ready to go out into the yard. Been looking around for some while at what's out there in LOR and D-Light sequences and I've tried to do something just a little bit different in regards to some of my selections along with some of the more 'traditional' like Wizards. With a ranch home I can't really get the vertical aspects I would like in alot of cases.  (We do the best with what we have)

Things look pretty good to me in the visulizer. I've setup some of the stuff all over the basement so I can see exactly how some of the display elements will really look. Most everything looks pretty good to me.

There's a good number of very large static displays around here but nothing very local computerized like this. Neighbors really liked the Mr. Christmas I did last year. I've already warned them about this year - If they though Mr. Chrismas was something they ain't seen nothing yet! Shocked..  They're as anxious as I am!

I've gotten alot of help from other folks while I was planning this and any small amount I can return to the 'community' by sharing my sequences is just a small way of saying Thanks.

Magic - I was thinking it was more luck than magic.  When I tested some of the lights on the Wizards 112 the first thought that crossed my mind is the neighbors will think the house is on fire!  Probably part of the cause of a rope light melt down I experienced over the weekend when testing with actual lights and stupid me light 3 150' spools of regular rope light and the heat got so intense it started to melt the ropes.. LED replacement is on its way Wink..
Rope light sure does stink when it gets that hot - Fortunately I didn't leave all the smoke out and was able to salvage the red, yellow, and about 100 ft of the green and have this for making some other display elements look much nicer.

BTW - I also just made the house picture available for downolad in the event anyone wants to see anthing in the visulizer the way it looks to me.. Sometimes it helps the creative juices when you get the complete picture.

bdkeen,
I downloaded a few of your songs but haven't played with them. When I started last year, I was happy some people (like you) shared their sequences. That way, I had a head start in my shows. I shared one sequence I had made...white christmas. Talk about a song with no beat or anything. That was painful.

Anyways, on behalf of one of those who have downloaded some of your shared sequences, big thank you.  It makes my work a bit simpler!!     Clap

Total now = 34 shared .dls files. Look forward to hearing from anyone that can use any of my sequences and adapt them.  Like to know how I'm doing (I know I don't use much shimmers or twinkles)

Update - 11/2
Now also available are:
The Holdman's Amazing Grace Techno adapted for 112 channels and my display
Holidays are Coming - CocaCola Christmas Advert Song (just under 1 minuite edit)
Total now = 36

Looks ok here -  but I can't get to 2:45ish - my sequence is only 2:16.33 in length.

I wonder - since this sort of started as a LOR1 import - then I scrapped most everything in it..  My audio isn't quite as long as what was probably used with the LOR sequence..  I wonder if the original isn't truncated and what you're seeing at 2:45ish is left over from the original LOR sequence... What ever is out there - it's not mineConfused

Update:
Yup - that was it. I changed the audio to sdomething that was far longer and discovered the events out past the end of my 2:16.33 audio file - I deleted them along with all the timing events, switched the audio back and all is still well.

That probably has something to do with it.....I have the full length version becasue Judy did a Voice over for me to play after the song.....I sequenced the entire song..originally mine was cut to 2 minutes like yours..

That also might explain why it look like 2 minutes to load.    I figured something was screwy...it looked good then it went to crap....Approve

Yeah....I saw the post on PC.....Thats too bad.....I don think she expected that many people to respond to the offer that fast.  I saw the post right after she posted the offer and sent her a email. I got a email this morning about a radio station request I sent to her, she's kind of freaking out trying to get everything out and follow up on radio station requests.....so give her a little bit to respond.

If you email her.....she may be able to get you a quick voice over if your interested.....or I can edit mine (take out the lights on sixth radio part) and send it to you is you want.

I emailed her today before I saw that she stopped the offer - Just a case of 'Ya snooze - ya lose' (I was snoozing). I still like the song and it's added it to my display.  If it looks anything in real life like it does in the visulizer it should be pretty good.

I was trying to remember where I had gotten one of the sequences that I am working on from....then I saw this thread...now I remember.  Here is some feed back for you.  I thought I was the only one that had an oddball number for mini trees...who does minis in groups of 9 besides me?!  Ohhh you do too!LOL  I had downloaded Wish Liszt and have been tweaking it to match my setup.  The mini tree count matching my count helps and my mega tree has four colors each color has eight channels(32 total).  So your "mega tree amber", your 16 channel arch and one more 8 channel item became my foundation for my 32 channel mega tree.  I like you style for this song and it is giving me something good to work with for this year.
Thanks.

Posted By: bdkeen
Date Posted: 11 Nov 2008 at 9:05pm
Thanks for the feedback - I had to decide the mini tree count and with the odd number made it nice to split from the center - I've seen alot of discussions about number of channels for an arch with odd numbers being recommended and I applied the same principle to the mini trees. Of course this doesnt explain my 8 channel arches. That was purely economics.

-------------

Posted By: Pony_God
Date Posted: 12 Nov 2008 at 8:29am

Our Mega Arches are 15 channels, 1 channel for ever 2 linear feet. We just put 6' trees at the base of eather side to to up the last channel.

As for our Mini trees, we have 8 on either side of the driveway.

You'll need the associated music file - since I haven't done any real editing you should b e able to use any correct song file (might need to adjust timing some to match your music file if there's more lead-in time). I did include that artist in my listing for downloads. You'll still have to adapt the sequence to your display, controller settings and such - It's not entirely 'plug-n'play' but hopefully I'm giving some folks a starting point...

If you actually look at the sequence in notepad you can see the audio file name and path which for all my sequences is the default audio folder (C:\Program Files\Aurora Sequencer\Audio\) - I didn't get fancy on where I put the audio files.

I am really glad you shared these sequences.  I am brand new to Aurora and D-light and without your sequences it would be a dark Christmas indeed:)
I also did the GE Mr. Christmas last year and it got me started into this whole mess:)  Now I have 40 channels up and running and 5 songs based on your sequences!

I do have a question, the Silent Night and Angels we have heard on high do not appear to be finished.  Is there a chance you have finished these up?

These are finished. In fact these 2 happen to be Richard Holdman's 2006 sequences imported and adapted. Unfortunately I can't find the url that links to the zip file of his sequences. Might be that your music file is longer?

Ok - it's in the mail - also updated my profile as well to show email address.  That radio button somehow slipped past me.

Everything is up and all 112 channels tested. It doesn't look all that bad I think. So planning on the full blown 37 sequence loop to run 5:30  -  10:00 PM this Saturday (11/22) then will begin scheduled show every night starting on Thanksgiving night.

For some reason the house and yard seem smaller than in the visulizer picture Big%20smile but it came out in real life pretty darn close to the visulizer. I'm always my worst critic and try to learn from mistakes.

Now if I only would have had a cherry picker for the tall tree maybe I could have made it alot neater looking and closer to the visulizer view. The 11 ft step ladder combined with the 11 ft light pole just wasn't quite enough height - combined with the fact that I'm just not as young as I used to be LOL (a lesson I seem unable to learn)

I probably won't get many marks for cord management either this year but that's mainly an eyesore in the day light.

Thanks for your quick response.  I double checked and even went back to ITUNES to look for more information on the songs.
Sinead Oconnor's Silent night is 3:42 on the song, but the sequence appears to end at 2:20.
Angels we have heard on high by Brian Setzer is 4:21 for the music and 2:28 on the sequencing.

I could not find music to match the sequencing times.  Unfortunate, because they are both great songs.  Maybe when I have time, I will stretch the sequences to fit the music I have.  thanks for the great job you have done on all the other sequences.

I will be using 8 of yours for my display this year!  Cut down to 40 Channels of course:)

Have a great Thanksgiving and wonderful Christmas!

I've had numerous requests for my 2009 sequences so rather than individually addressing the requests via email I'm sharing them on my website as one (.zip) file containing all (I think 37) of them:
http://www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp - www.keenlights.info/sequences.asp

Most are just revamped 2008 sequences due to the addition of 64 more channels and the elements they control.
For 2009 I've decided to drop some of the songs but there are a few new ones this year as well. The 112 channel sequences from 2008 are also still there.

I'm also testing a Live IM chat gadget so if you have any questions about the sequences and it looks like I'm online feel free to try the chat. If I'm around the workstation I'll try to answer any question you might have.
Enjoy!

Anyone finding my sequences useful? (I know of a few that have found them helpful) I've definitely noticed a big increase in page hits as we fast approach Big%20smile LIGHTS ON Big%20smile. The '09's are pretty much the same as last year with the addition of a dcx16 for 4 rgb floods and a few other 12 vdc stuff, splitting up some things from last year, 2 more 8 channel arches, couple of 7 channel poles, and a 4 ft 8 channel wreath. There's a few new sequences for '09 and I dropped some from last year.

If you haven't visited the website and are still in need of sequences - visit and be my guest.

I for one downloaded the Jingle Bells Techno to save me some time on the timing marks. Many thanks for sharing.
Also many more thanks you's for trying to save my Carol Of the Bells sequence. I had to do what you suggested: bite the bullet and start from scratch. At least we tried. It isn't as good as the original I had but for this year, it will have to do. Thumbs%20Up

Spectrum cannot open Aurora files.  You don't need to import the file, you simply need to open it.  Note that the dls file only contains the channels and commands; you will need to provide your own music.  My suggestion is to place the dls file into the ..\Aurora\Sequences folder.  If your music file doesn't match the commands just right, use the time shift feature until it does line up.  If the file doesn't open correctly, check to see whether you are using an older version of Aurora (i.e. v1.0.41) and if so, upgrade to the latest version.

All the sequences available on my site are Aurora.  The 2009 were definitely done or last touched with version 1.0.69.  the 2008 (112 channel files) are most likely 1.0.41 (whatever it was last year this time). All you need to do is open them in Aurora.

I'm going to sound really stupid, but what's the OP site?

If you're refering to the All I want - 112 channel version on my site try downloading it again - I just resaved it . OR you can download the .zip of the 2009 sequences and I believe it might be inside there (176 channels) - actually called All I Want Disney - I'm using video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYbtcu5trXk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYbtcu5trXk  which will provide you with the same sound track that I'm using.

In order to update Aurora, you MUST first uninstall your current version via control panel.  RESTART!!!  Then install the updated version.  RESTART!!!  It will now work.  Follow these steps exactly or else it will not work.

just a quick question, i dont have to buy any new keys for the update do i, and once i have updated the 1.0.41 to 1.0.69 i take it that makes it full version not demo, as the demo only lasts for 15 minutes doesnt it,

Your current key is good for all 1.x.x versions. When 2.0 comes out, that'll probably be a new key.

That would be the original version... which is the version I have.  It was the first song I ever sequenced.  It probably could use some timing adjustments since it was done pre-spectrogram era, but it has been good enough that I haven't messed with it.

My version is 210 channels, however it was originally sequenced as a 64 channel version and has gone through copy/paste duplication as the display grew.  It wouldn't be too hard to trim it back to 32 channels I think since the patterns used are rather simple and you are mostly wanting the timings anyway.  That song, recorded back in the 2 track studio era, has "character" to it... which is to say the timings in the recording aren't as mathematically perfect as today's music.  There are several places where the instruments, backing vocals, and lead vocal all come in at different times.

Sequence layout:
Guitar "effects": a few color outline channels on the house
Brass: Note-to-bush mapped
Background vocals: color changes to RGB floods
Lead Vocals: Mega tree color changes; 6 colors times 12 slices now but originally sequenced as odd/even slice patterns (pattern maps to as few as 12 channels)
Other stuff: Mega tree slice animation in instrumental bridge

If you are interested then I'll post it to LC's file swappers group.  Let me know.

I know where this is going, and just to head off the inevitable, "How do you delete more than one channel at a time?" question, the answer is that you can (currently) only delete channels one at a time.

I'll get this to the share group later, but for now...

http://www.lightsonlogan.com/Downloads/rockin_2008.zip - http://www.lightsonlogan.com/Downloads/rockin_2008.zip

I need to update this one sometime... it is really starting to look dated.

Edit: You can use the one above, but I found an older version in my files that might be easier for you to work with (less channels):

In the .zip file it's called 'Make A Wish'. This is the song I used to make a sequence with a slide show of the wish kids from the local chapter in their dedicatation.

Night No. 2 of the show and it's been going excellent! Other than the critters chewing some 12VDC wires things have been going very well.
I am attempting live streaming of video and sound http://www.keenlights.info/netcams.asp - www.keenlights.info/netcams.asp  - viewable in Window Media Player. The camera quality is not the best and the half wave LEDs show up a bit strange on the AXIS webcam I'm using but I think it gives a pretty good view (at least it has for me in my testing). Sure wish I could get the camera about 50 more feet away from the display.

Still facing the dismal job market and unemployment and drastic cost cutting as a result...  For this reason we did not have a 2010 show nor does it appear that we'll be able to brighten hearts in 2011.

I'll gladly zip all my sequences and email them to any one that requests via email.

Thanks
Bruce
