Alright, this is on my Dell Vista box, USB485 to a single ACx16.

I'm doing a do a ramp out that's over 2 seconds and nothing happens on the lights. Under 2 second everything is fine.

The ramp is 100->10, but 100->0 does not work either.
Hardware utility can do a 25.5 second ramp out.
ACx16 version is 1.13

It is probably in another thread or was sent directly to my email, but we're aware of this one.  There was a change done to the ramp calculation formula a few betas ago (to fix another problem) and we made a mistake with the change that didn't get caught in beta testing.  This will be fixed in the next version.

It was started in the "Wi-Link Can't Ramp" area a few threads further down.

Ah... THat's why, I was thinking that it was something funny with the WiLink communications.

It appears to be a general ramp issue and nothing related to the WiLink fortunately, or at least from my perspective.

That's fine, there's still a 2 month buffer.

All is well in WiLiink-land from the Aurora standpoint.

Any word from the powers to be as to when the update will be available? Or should I plan on reverting back before 1.0?

Thanks

I have the same issue, there's no word on the next revision, so I'm dropping back to an earlier version to get round the ramp issue

I would do an un-install of 1.0 and then just re-install 0.7. To be honest it's only the scheduler that we need to get running with the longer fades.

Should I use v0.7 or v0.71?

Just for clearification - If one were to just replace the scheduler with that from .7 long fades during show time would be ok?

Of course this may all be pending possible fix to this and any other fixes in any release prior to showtime.

Well, I think we all would be happy if we knew that the bug would be fixed for halloween (Christmas for me).
I would expect that since Firefly was supposed to be in this version, 1.1 is on hold until then. I'd like to have to fixes/tweaks before Firefly persoanlly, since I'd like to do ramp testing, and possibly have some odd lockups fixed.

I'm not holding my breath at the moment - Nov 25 is when my lights go on. I've tried most of my sequences and haven't see problems with the fades mostly because I unknowingly didn't use real long fades.  A few of the more recent sequences might suffer and I'd just like to be prepared. If that means dropping the scheduler back-level to work-around the long ramp issue that's not a problem.

As for Firefly - it's cool but I haven't found a place I want to use it yet and for the first year 112 channels of D-Light seemed aggresive enough for me. A far cry from the 6 channels of pre-programmed, over fused,  Mr. Christmas Wacko

Can't wait to see some of the video's for 2008 where Firefly is used..  It may be lurking in my future.

I'm starting with 64 channels and one (42 channel) firefly. Hard figuring out what to make all of the channels do with only 64!

You will figure it out.  Just be creative.  I have gone from 128 CH to 224 CH and Firefly.  I hope it's not too much.

NEVER!!!!

But seriously...when in doubt you can always set the twinkle rates to slow (with the HW utility) and then drop in long twinkle commands as needed.  This saved us last year when the assembly of twelve controllers left me little time for sequencing. Dead

I just ran some tests and the long ramps still have issues (both up and down ramps as well as shimmer and twinkle ramps).  So looks like we will still need another revision for us Halloweeners :-(

Along with other Beta Testers we have another release that came out today that should fix the Long ramps. I will be testing this later today and report out whether the long ramp bug is fixed. Stay tuned

Shocked   I will keep my fingers crossed.  On second thought, I better not cross my fingers, it will be too tough to put up my Halloween lights that way.

The beta testers have another version to test tonight.  I don't usually do this but I know a lot of you have shows tonight....

If you don't have a show starting tonight then don't attempt this... we'll have a "stable" version later this week.

Version 1.0.1 B

http://www.aurorashow.com/downloads/aurora_1_0_1b.zip - http://www.aurorashow.com/downloads/aurora_1_0_1b.zip

Since this is still beta... BACKUP YOUR WORK BEFORE INSTALLING THIS!!!

After installing you will need to open your sequences in 1.0.1b and resave them before running them in the scheduler.  This is necessary for them to "compile" with the new ramp values.

THANKS!  I will let you know if I have any problems (like a semi-beta tester)

Just a heads up, the Beta testers just confirmed:

Ramps up/down fine (even long ramps).

Ramp up down combinned with shimmer or twinkle non-functional.

Most folks probably wont have ramps with shimmer or twinkles so this release might be ok for most folks. Thumbs%20Up

Shimmering and Twinkling Ramps are only good with firmware revision 1.14, I believe.

Ran a quick test, on a song that was having problems.  It seems to be working now.  I will run a full show tomorrow night, and post any problems.

I saw tht there was the 1.14, but everyone I asked thought the only update was for WiLink... So Shimmer/Twinkle ramps are in the 1.14 f/w as well, hu? I'll have to update my first two controlles then, bcause I DO do simmering ramps.
Not for halloween though

1.14 was a WiLink fix. 1.13 first introduced the new effects.

...so does the 1.0.2 release also address the long ramp issue...is that the "stable" version that is referenced to being available one week after Oct. 1st?  I have not seen that "stable" release.  Where can I find it?

I have had perfect ramps since the update. Been running for two weeks straight with no issues what so ever!
