Given the rough start of 1.0, it appears that we will not have true DMX support available for the 2008 season (not in a stable form anyway).

That said, it appears that it is possible to do DMX now even before we have the "true" support for it in Aurora.  A customer has reported that the LOR iDMX1000 is compatible with Aurora.  The iDMX1000 emulates several LOR devices and outputs the commands in DMX format to a DMX network.  You will need to set this up as a "Generic LOR1 Device" and create the device/channel numbers that map to the corresponding DMX channels (sort of like how Firefly occupies 3 device IDs to control 48 channels).  This "trickery" is a bit pricey, but if any of y'all are wanting to do any DMX this season then it might just do the trick until we get the real deal working.  There are some limitations (such as the LOR1 protocol only supporting 239 levels of dimming when DMX supports 256... which means some precision loss with intelligent motion fixtures).

In 2009 we will add true DMX network support for several less expensive adapters which will make this bridge device unnecessary.
