Is there a way to pull from a music folder during non show times? I would like to have show run every 15 min for 1 song and then go back to running various music, sound bites and station id's during the remaining time.

For my pre-show music I used Audicity and created a 30 minute file of selected music. Then crerated a .dls sequence for this - no events - no lights. Then the no-lights sequence can be scheduled in the scheduler.

I've been considering this for ages (from folder or URL like PC radio) but didn't want to break something so close to the season.  Maybe next week I'll throw together a seperate companion app that monitors the borealis.dat and plays music from the selected location when a show isn't running (that way no code change is required in Borealis).

You should call it, "Northern Lights Audio Player". LOL

I think that it should go back to Aurora Sequencer and Borealis Scheduler, instead of calling it "the scheduler".
That's just me though.

Fine. You're so smart you rig up the lights.

Actually, "the scheduler" now prominently says "Borealis" on the splash screen.  Before that, not many people knew about Borealis being the official name of the scheduler; it was simply known as Aurora's scheduler.

Any word on the add-on to play music during non show times.  This would be a great thing to have.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see it happen as well.  It might be nice as a little stand alone program so that Borealis isn't messed around with too much.

I have a version in the lab built into the scheduler but it hasn't undergone any real world testing yet.

The lab version can launch playlist files, including those on the web like PC radio.

Could it run video files? I have a projector playing various cartoon christmas classics (Grinch, Rudolph, )on wall above garage. This is also the way I let people know about video surveillance and season greetings. I produced a video through my windows movie maker. It would be nice to have it run through computer and shut down during shows but start back up after show ends.

I think we might have a release version with non-show audio around Tuesday or Wednesday.  I've successfully run the alpha two nights on my own show and plan to send this to the beta testers on Monday.  I'm also testing an option to have the scheduler end time shut down the show right after the current song finishes, not after the full show finishes.

nikkinscot- no, sorry... the after hours stuff will be audio only for 2008.  During show stuff will remain video capable.

I dont know how far in to this you are but it would be cool to have a secondary play list that plays when nothing else is. Its purpose would be to cover any time periods the main play list isnt playing.  It could also be put on a schedule, or multiple schedules.

The thought is to have something that can run 24 hours a day for messages about the show or additional christmas music when the show isnt running.

Can you run a video from the sequencer during show times? I was thinking that maybe I could run grinch on the video projector and at the same time have the lights sequenced to the video. Is this possible and how?

Yes there are a few topics on this forum for that. It doesn't really fall under the NonShow though but you can incorperate vidoe into your sequence but instead of sequencing a .wav you'll be doing an .avi. You'll also need a dual display(monitor) for this to happen.

Did this happen? or not. I would like to set it up to play music and announce ment between shows and during off hours. I looked through Borealis and didnt see how to do this. I have the current downloads. Actually my plan was to run Zara Radio software during off times.

I have actually just set up Zara Radio... I have all my promos and everything in scheduals. Then it shuts down 30 secs before the shows starts. Then starts up again after The show is done for the night. It runs 24/7 with out me looking at it. So I really didnt need the other option in Borealis.
