I forgot to ask about the event time.
is there something to tap along with the beats to establish the events while listening to the song?

Not in the beta.

But I don't mind it - it keeps my sequences cleaner.  Music is repetitive and you should be able to exercise a lot of sequence re-use.  Take the chorus of a song - usually exists 2 or 3 times in a song...at least.  Generate the chorus sequence once, then copy and paste it into the other times.  Mark the beginning of the chorus with one event line, the end with another and paste use the stretch shrink option.  Then make any tweaks or modifications if you feel like changing it up.

Same goes with verses.

I found in other programs that if I tapped out the beat, once I finished the song, I had a ton of unnecessary lines - just had a cluttered look to it.  Especially if I wasn't tapping just right.

Another thing you can try if you REALLY want to get a beat line - find a beat and mark it.  Then listen for 10 seconds or so and mark another beat line.  The re-listen to that section and count the number of beats and use the Split Cells option.  This gives you much more accurate timing marks as long as you get the first and last one correct....and as long as the music isn't changing tempo.  :)
