Has anyone used phone cord? We're at crunch time and need to hardwire some stuff since our wireless transmitter got introduced to water. Lots of phone cord avail... will it work?

Phone cord does not have twisted pairs like CAT5/6 does. Keep your runs short. RS485 is robust, but still susceptible to noise over long runs  Say, no more than 50'.

If you runs aren't too long, can make up some cables and ship to you UPS for cost of shipping.

I need two 300' runs.  Is that long?  ;)  I'll just pick up a box of cat5 - thanks for the offer LC.
