So with spectrum I was able to view a picture of my house and see a sample preview of what the lights would look like on playback. How do I go by seeing this on Aurora?

At the top, to the right of the "light bulb" is an icon of the grid. Clicking on this toggles the virtualizer (similar to Spectrum's visualizer). There is a default picture there of Michael's house.
To change the picture to one of yours, you can do it one of two ways. The more convoluted way is to replace the file, DEFAULT.JPG with your picture which would be renamed to DEFAULT.JPG (provided its a JPG, that is!). The location is, C:\Program Files\Aurora Sequencer I prefer this route as you never have to enter the picture again when creating another sequence (yeah I'm lazy!). The other more conventional way is to click File/Properties and define the path to your picture in the "Picture" field. Edited by LightChristmas - 02 Sep 2008 at 8:01pm |

ok it worked! Thanks! Oh one more question... is there a way, when drawing the device on the picture to change say the color of the bulb? I might just not see the button to do so....

At this point, the color of the "bulb" is determined by the color you have selected for each channel (the color of the name tag for the channel). If you want to change the color, just click on the channel in question and change the color in the Display Options box.

is there a way to have a default picture come up with all my channels programmed to it that i use over and over that way i dont have to draw everything out each time i start a new song. Something like when it ask if i want to import channels from another song can it ask if i want to use that same picture and settings of all the lights for that song it would save me from having to draw it out each time.

It already does that. When you import channels, it imports all of the drawing for those channels. You may have to update the picture if that is different though.

You can do what I did. (Which is what Pony is talking about i think). Take and do your fist sequnce. Import the picture of your house. Draw all the lights, Save the file as a "template".
Now for each song that you want to do, Start Aurora. Load your music. "Import Channels" (Thi is where you would select your template file). At that point all of your lights on your house get loaded as well...
At least this is my perspective but Im new as well so I could be wrong in my process but it works for me.

That is exactly what I have done. I have a sequence called "2008 template". Then what I start a new sequences, I just import that sequence whe it asks to import channels. All the channels are arranged correct and lights are drawn on them. Start sequencing immediately.

Exactly what I do, I do keep versions though, since I started out with 64 then added more, then moved some stuff, then changed pictures... I Can easily doo all of the changes in the new template file, then import the updates/changes to each file.
