Alright, I'll try to step though slowly and precicely. (Note that Aurora is NOT the front window at all times)
1. Start Aurora
2. Create New
3. Give sequence title
4. Give Author
5. Select MP3 from aurora's auio dir
6. Select JPG from aurora's root
7. Import channels from another (YES)
All of the progress bars go by, close, then nothing more.
When I mouseover where the audio would be, it does not clear out the notes as I move around.
The aurora process is 100% CPU
Channels finnaly showed up on mouseover.
I tried to add lights but they did not show.
I accepted light changes, and then the audio was displayed.
Cannot play.
selected a start location, cannot play audio.
selected a play section, cannot start audio.
When to View -> Properties
Cancel.
Aurora just closes. No errors. Just gone. There is a *ding*. Like the XP, you can't do that ding.
I'll do some testing and see if I can determine what causes the lockup.

Hum.... alright something didn't close out well, because now thre are other oddities in the OS. I can no longer open last night's play file. I'm stuck on "Decompileing Data..."
Rebooting to see what happens.

Well, yes, and it worked fine on reboot.... The odd thing is that I'm wondering if something didn't clear it's self out, or release it's lock on something. I haven't had the other OS oddities before, but I've had the same issue soon after I installed Aurora the first time last night.
I'll watch it and see if I notice anything funny around the time that I'm playing with Aurora.

Alright, so I got it going, added a few time markers, then did a ctrl/shift/whatever it was +R to pull up the Ramp options.
I changed it from 0->100 to 100->0, then update didn't do anything, couldn't close the window. nthing, no escape, nothing.
I went into task manager and killed the app, on start, I have the same thing that I started with. Won't load the audio, won't play.
Saw another bug.
1. Start Aurora
2. Create New
3. Cancel
Aurora exits without any error.

I'll run this through the beta group...
This was never seen during any of the beta testing or pre-release versions. The only thing that changed between 0.7.2 and 1.0.0 was the version number, but alas you aren't the only one reporting this problem and even I have seen it in the lab once on a laptop after switching from the built in display to an external monitor.
Right now our highest priority is on getting the Vista install issues sorted out, so please be patient with us... we will get to this issue soon.

That's perfectly fine, I shure you have a ong list of tweaks that you need to do up on some board. I'm just reporting what I see. If I can figure out what's causing it, I'll speak up.
I've just had another oddity. I was sequencing perfectly for an hour, then I sat back and watched TV for ~10 min? When I went back to Aurora, it was at 100% cpu utilization.
The only thing that I did in that time was read some posts here and watch some tv.
I bet that after I kill Aurora, I'll have my original problem again and I'll have to reboot.
BUT, let me reitterate, that I am happy with Aurora, and it is much better than most other EARLY version 1 software that I've seen. There's no huge time crunch. You're busy fixing. My issures are small and not widespead. I know how it goes.

Nope, Aurora does not start back up...
I'm stuck on "Decompiling Data..." cpu is back at 100%
Interestingly, explorer is using a bit more cpu than normal now.
Screen refresh rates are very slow now.
Could something in the display be getting stuck in some loop? not releasing ram?
A reboot should fix.

I got that same decomp lockup like 4-5 times today while opening my sequence. It took 2 reboots to clear it the 1st time. Wierd thing is that I could click on everything, the pull down menus, the draw function switched to the draw screen even with the decomp locked in place. the program wasn't locked up. The last time it happens, I got up and came back like 5 minutes later and it finished what ever it was doing and the sequence was open. Edited by ChrisL1976 - 04 Sep 2008 at 8:54pm |
