I have scheduler running on my laptop for my Halloween show... my screen saver is set to come on after 10 minutes of inactivity... will this effect the playing of the files in scheduler?

Thanks!

you can test it and see....set your clock for 1 minutes and start your show and see what happens.

I know with spectrum last year, I turned it off.

I turn the saver and monitor off.
It's one tiny extra thing that sucks cpu cycles that's not needed.
I do have the box lock after 10 min though.
Fine. You're so smart you rig up the lights.

Have you seen any issues with the lock out freezing the show?   I'm assuming your referring to lock out as having to sign back in when you go back to the computer.

Correct, the computer required a password to get back to the console.
No, I havn't had any issues, and I would expect any. All the consol lock does is deny local access. Everything that was running continues to run.
Now, let me note that I haven't tested schedular with a show starting a few days after the screen is locked, and continuing for multiple days following the schedule with the console locked, but I havn't had any problems on single days. (Starting Schedular, locking the screen, then the show starting later, and wrapping it's self up.)
Fine. You're so smart you rig up the lights.

I know I'll have to shut off stand by..I'm almost sure that will freeze the scheduler.

It might....
You go on standby while on AC power?
I only go standby on screen close or idle time on battery.

Its still factory settings since I just got it Monday night.....it takes like 5-10 seconds to pop to the log in screen after a few hours of sitting.  If I open it a few minutes after I close it, the sign in screen pops right up...so I assume its going a little deeper into shut down after a few hours.

I'll have to look at the settings this weekend.

That's "S3" mode...

There should be an easy setting to be "always on" when on AC power. Probably in Vista, not positive where though.
