Program failed to register videoedit.ocx. Updated Windows 2000. Reinstalled with same results. Any ideas?

Yep. Search for "videoedit.ocx" online, download the file, and place it in the windows\system32 directory.
The good news is that this issue is caused by Windows, not Aurora. Essentially your system is missing the videoedit.ocx file. Why? Ask Microsoft, but much like anything they do, there does not seem to be a logical reason behind it. BTW, if it does the same thing with any other .ocx file, the process is the same. |

My guess is that since Windows 2000 is a server OS, and not a desktop OS, Microsft saw no need for the drivers. I know it's tht was for 2003 and audio...

Downloaded videoedit.ocx. Put it in System32 directory. Error 339 came up. Does memory have to do with the error?

Do you need any software like Visual Studio for the install to work?

You should not need any other programs installed. I have nothing other than drivers in my 2003 install.
Error 339 came up over on another post.
When do you get the error?

As soon as you start the instll or tward the end? If it's not at the beginning, try to uninstall, and delete the aurora directoy, then try again. If the first install didn't compleate cleanly, it may be stuck.

Go to the ...\Aurora\cache directory, and delete aurora.dat and borealis.dat. (They will repopulate the next time the program is installed). Then try the install again. Since I don't know what the numbers for the error codes mean, you may need to send Michael (LightsOnLogan) a message.

Deleted Aurora directory. Started fresh install. Stops when copying new files with Error 1931. The windows Installer service cannot update the system file C:\WINNT\system32\scrrun.dll because the file is peotected by Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly.
OS- Windows 2000 Professional
256Mb Ram
Have install latest Windows updates.
