Topic: problems with channels Posted: 04 Oct 2008 at 3:44pm |
I started a new song (16 channels) on aurora and just about completed it. I tried to add my second controller (another 16 channels) and couldnt figure it out. Back to spectrum got both controllers loaded, Now i reimported the sequence and my visualizer wont show any light effects. The error it said was virtual memory was low... So i added another 512mb so now im at one gig. But still nothing. im at a loss and looking for suggestions.

I can't give a good answer for the virtual memory thing - the extra memory SHOULD have fixed that.
Instead, what is the problem you have installing controllers and channels? Other than being a bit tedious doing a single channel at a time, you just right click in the channel column and fill in the data. If you only have one USB485 or WiLink connection, leave Network ID as "1" since you'll only have one network. Choose the D-Light ACx16 controller out of the drop down list, give it a short but descriptive name, pick a Controller ID # and then a Channel number, finally pick a color and that channel is done.
Repeat 15 more times. Boring, perhaps, but straightforward. Creating in Spectrum just to import is, in my thinking, just asking for trouble.
Once you get all your channels input, then each new creation will let you import the channels from that master sequence. Edited by JonB256 - 04 Oct 2008 at 5:40pm |

I went through and deleted the extra 16 channels that i added in the spectrum but it didnt help with the visualizer. I might end up programming the rest of that song without a visualizer.

Visualizer prob. kind of fixed but, i added 4 more channels on my aurora sequence and drew the lights. When
i play it back in the visualizer the new channels ( which should be
17,18,19,20 but are listed in the channels properties as 1,2,3,4) blink
like channels 1-4 on my first controller. How do i get away from this?

How exactly did you number any channels 17,18,19,20??? From what I've seem, the Channel list only goes up to 16. Do you mean Device number? |

I think that he means "the 17'th channel", as in "I have 64 channels, this is device 4, channel 15 OR channel 64".
Polarass, Did you set the correct device ID for the next set of channels?
I missed the id on one of my inpts and that took me a while to figure out why that chennel didn't output to reality.

Yes the channel properties only goes up to 16. But what i mean is the four channels that i added would be in running order 17-20 (counting from the top down).
1st. Controller Id = 3 channels 1-16 2nd. Controller Id = 5 Channels 17-32 Id's are set correctly because they output like i sequenced them. However when im using the visualizer they dont operate like i sequenced them. In the visualizer channel 1-4 are skulls. And channel 17-20 (if you will) are pumpkins. When i watch the visualizer the pumpkins are doing the same thing the skulls are doing. Do you think this has something to do with having the same number in the " Channel properties"? Thanks for the help, Les Edited by polarass07 - 10 Oct 2008 at 9:27pm |

I thin that you clicked on the wrong channel on the left when you drew your pumpkins.
(my 2 cents)
Try to redraw.
