Alright, so what's the timeframe for these issues to be fixed? I really don't want to update, but get locked out due to crashes. 1.0.2 is stable enough, I'll just wait longer for my ff tool

The reason that older sequences once saved in 1.0.25 will no longer work in previous versions is because of the way Aurora now handles different formats. Essentially, it's a different program entirely. I have nothing but good things to say about 1.0.25, as a lot of the issues I was having are gone now and a lot of fantastic additions were added. Just in case something random happens to shut Aurora down, I rely on the save button a lot more than I used to and even if I forget, the backup workspace has saved my butt a few times. I think 1.0.25 is a lot more stable than 1.0 ever was. However, if you are really concerned about upgrading, then simply finish sequencing with the version you've got now (but don't program any firefly commands), and when Michael gets the last few kinks out for 1.1, then upgrade. Just be sure to backup your sequences.

Well, it seems the 'unseen' shows will run, so perhaps move this from an 'Issue' to 'It would be nice' to be able to see all the shows scheduled on a given date.
Cheers!

Overflow errors and unable to use MP3s...
A few things to try:
1) Fully uninstall Aurora and reinstall it.
2) Run the wmfdist.exe file in the Aurora Sequencer directory (this will reinstall the Windows Media 9 encoder/decoder files that videoedit.ocx depends on). Contrary to the name, it doesn't do video editing but rather format conversions (MP3 support) and extracts the audio from video files (video support).
3) Verify that the file "eofft.dll" is in your Windows\System32 directory (it is NOT necessary to register this DLL).
This issue did not come up during beta testing so it is a huge surprise (it's the risk of things like this that kept this version from being labeled 1.1 instead of 1.0.25). Rest assured, we will be trying to replicate the circumstances which lead to this and other errors. We will be reviewing the list tomorrow a should be able to give a better time frame on fixes after then.
Any information you can provide (what OS you are using, how much RAM you have, what other programs were open) would be helpful.
1.0.0 to 1.0.2 did contain some serious issues that could lead to loss of work and/or unplayable sequences. This should be taken into consideration when deciding whether to upgrade or not. Edited by LightsOnLogan - 09 Nov 2008 at 10:10pm |

We are trying (unsuccessfully) to reproduce the overflow error in the lab.
Is this a WAV, MP3, or WMA file?
How long is it (minutes:seconds)?
What is the file size (kB)?

I tried more than one file. It was a wav file. I will try what Michael suggested about completely removing the program and I'll report back. what was weird was even though I had removed the newer version and reinstalled the older version, it still came up with overflow. I'm running XP on an ASUS P5N-SLI with INTEL dual core 2.34 cpu with 3 GB ram, and a GFORCE 8800 Video card. At the time, I had Outlook, AVG Anti-virus, Mailwasher Pro and Internet Explorer opened. Hope this can give a hint as to what might have happenned.

Ok I just got around in doing what was suggested for me to do. I removed the whole program from Add and Remove programs from Control panel, the reinstalled the new 1.0.29 version and had my fingers crossed. Well there was no kaboom. The program installed with no flaw and it ran a sequence with no problem. What I have done differeant than before was I used the uninstall by windows and not the Aurora install/remove/repair setup program.
So far, so good. I'll be pushing the limit tonight and if I have any issues, I'll post back. Thanks for all your help guys. Truly a tight community we have here!!!
